Rescue Dog is founded on The 3 C's of our core beliefs:
Great Cuisine, Great Cause, and Community
Having food that taste great and is affordable is important to us. We chose each recipe with care and chose the best ingredients that taste great and a filling meal that won’t break the bank.
Each Franchise will donate all their tips to a non-kill animal shelter in addition to a percentage of every sale. This model helps generate funds to support local shelters! Franchisee, RET #1, has donated over $30,000 in the last 2 years with community support!
We created this business with the intention of not being another corporate giant that is disconnected from their franchisees. We want to keep the small town feel with the corporate backend support. Each potential franchisee is vetted and carefully considered before being awarded a franchise.
The Rescue Dog Founders have a combined business ownership of over 50 years, 35 of which were spent as a franchisor. With backgrounds in business, financial industry, manufacturing, and food service the founders used their combined knowledge to craft the franchise you see today.
Amanda started out in the customer service industry before transferring into finance. After several years spent in the financial industry Amanda eventually left to start her own companies with her husband Colten. She spent the next 4 years working on expanding her businesses by attending events that hosted hundreds of thousands of attendees, working closely with her community for charitable causes, and perfecting different business models. When Covid19 hit the USA in 2020 she switched gears into mask manufacturing and helping local schools attain much needed Covid19 screening tools.
Then in the midst of the pandemic an idea was born. A firetruck that served gourmet hot dogs and helped animal shelters, and the idea flourished into what you see today with the Rescue Dog Franchise System.
Amanda wanted to continue to grow and develop within the franchise community. She completed her CFE (Certified Franchise Executive) with the goal of learning how to best serve her Franchisees. Participants in the Certified Franchise Executive (CFE) program complete an impressive array of courses in franchise management, leadership, and small business in order to gain insights into franchise strategy and operations.
Colten got his start helping in his family’s restaurants as a kid and then as a line cook in high school and proceeded to work in different food industries putting himself through trade school. After graduating from Universal Technical Institute Colten spent the next decade working in the manufacturing sector. From an aerospace materials company to custom automotive builds and then industrial vehicles and trailer manufacturing. Utilizing skills from each industry he learned how to build different machines and improve SOP’s to expedite the processes and increase quality within the field.
As Rescue Dog was born Colten put his expertise to use in creating the RET and food processes that all our Franchisees and Franchise use today.
Robert got his start in entrepreneurship at a young age by finding and fixing old bicycles. As he grew up his businesses got bigger and bigger before eventually starting his first franchise company in the 80s. The company focused on creating child IDs to help locate children should they go missing. Today that very same company is heavily involved in school safety products with their visitor management system and is an industry leader in their sector. However, as a passionate entrepreneur he continued to think of new businesses and collecting vintage vehicles in his spare time.
Then one day he found a 1972 Gertenslager Fire Truck for sale and the Rescue Dog concept was developed.
Chief is our brand mascot! His cartoon likeness is seen on the trademarked Rescue Dog logo, and is the defining feature of the Rescue Dog Brand.
Chief is a Rescue Dalmatian that was we rescued in 2022. At 16 weeks old he was returned to his breeder as his current home could no longer keep him. We got the call about him a week later seeing if we could possibly take him in as he was in desperate need of a new home.
Today you will see Chief out and about at events in Montana and he is always up for pets and belly rubs.
